Amazing news for sports fanatics, the sports merchandise distribution giant, has announced that it has reached an agreement with the NHL to be its technical sponsor for the next ten years, through 2034! Yes, you read that right, 2034 is a long-term business relationship. Although the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, Adidas, the NHL’s current partner, is rumored to be paying $70 million per year. A large amount of money, but wait, there’s more. The contract with Fanatics won’t begin until the 2024–2025 season when the deal with Adidas ends. Both parties had given up on extending the contract, which had been in place since 2005. Reebok took over in 2005 and was purchased by Adidas in 2017–2018, replacing the Massachusetts firm with its own brand. So, after nearly 20 years, the NHL is making a major change!
