United States under tornado warning

 

United States is in an alarming situation this Black Friday, March 31, 2023, with the occurrence of several destructive natural phenomena that have impacted several states, especially Arkansas. Tornadoes have left desolation in their wake in different areas of Arkansas, and according to data from the U.S. Weather Service, nearly 28 million people are under a tornado watch across the country.

 

Little Rock has been one of the cities hardest hit by the passage of tornadoes, and the first images of the impact show the level of tragedy, with overturned cars, collapsed structures and shattered power grids. Although it is not yet possible to quantify the losses or the number of people affected, local authorities in Arkansas have warned that a "significant" number of injured people have already been treated.

 

The situation is so serious that hospitals have been placed on special alert and rescue teams are preparing to attend to those affected by the multiple structural failures following the tornado. Local Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has confirmed the first major damage, and has asked residents to be patient with the emergency response given its magnitude.

 

The tornado emergency and warning includes several U.S. states, such as Illinois, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee, and it is expected that by the weekend the tornado emergency could move into the northeast of the country, including territories such as Pennsylvania and New York and New Jersey.

 

President Joe Biden has reaffirmed his commitment to the victims of the storm, sympathizing with the pain of the victims and committing to rebuilding. Authorities have declared a State Emergency Operations Plan in Missouri and are preparing for a difficult night.

 

In the midst of the emergency, at least four tornadoes have also been recorded in Iowa territory, generating great panic among the population. The situation is really worrying, and we hope that the authorities and the inhabitants can cope with this emergency and overcome it safely and effectively.
