85% of the things we worry about, never happen

Have you noticed that 85% of the things we worry about, don’t happen? Sadly, we suffer the consequences of the stress we had while we thought about a future that never became a reality.

We can fight against this situation if we start being more present in everything we do, we should enjoy a meal without thinking about what our next meal is going to be. We should enjoy the time that we spend with family without checking our phones.

The lack of contentment is so terrible that when we achieve something we’re thinking about the next thing that we’re going to do. We find a good partner and we think they’re going to cheat. We get a good job and we wonder if we’re going to lose it. Always creating fake scenarios in our heads that don’t let us enjoy our small or big accomplishments.

Can you believe that statistically, 85% of things that we worry about, never happen? It’s amazing how much time we waste thinking about something that has an 85% chance of not happening.

Michel de Montaigne said: “My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened.” And I think that this is a great opportunity to find peace, and understand that we shouldn’t put our bodies or minds through that suffering. Because let’s be real, they probably won’t happen, but your mind thinks it’s real, you made it a reality when you think about it and each time you think about it it becomes more and more real.

We shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves, we barely make it every day and there we are again, suffering for nothing, pushing our minds to the limit, and burning ourselves.

What do you think about this? I’ll create a section where you can find options to relax and find peace even if some difficulties come across.
